The trio presents a blend of hindustani classical, Jazz and Progressive Rock moulded into a dreamscape of fusion music. All the members of the quartet are performers and music students currently studying in KM Music Conservatory, Chennai. They draw their influences from diverse genres like indian classical, bengali folk, Armenian folk, jazz, western classical, blues, funk, neo-soul, progressive rock and metal to mention a few.

The Syzygy

The SyZyGy is an Indian rock band based in Chennai. It was founded by and consists of students of A. R. Rahman’s famous KM College of Music and Technology. The members include Siddharth Maheshwari (guitars, vocals), Ameen Singh (guitars, vocals), Alexandra Joy (lead vocals), Prashanth Venkat (bass), and Aditya Heda (drums and percussion). The band draws inspiration from classic hard rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, and heavy metal. They consider Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Porcupine Tree, Slash, Genesis, Radiohead, and Camel as their main influences. The band is currently working on their first album, which will be a concept album, and hope to finish and release it by the end of 2019.

Matt Bacon

Top Prize winner at the Texas National Music Festival’s classical guitar competition, Matt Bacon is a performer & teacher now living in Chennai, after making the jump from San Francisco. Originally a classical musician by trade, Matt’s nylon playing can be heard on a handful of soundtracks that have graced Tamil cinema over the past years. Now, with the help of Goutham Healer on drums, Kashyap on bass, and Sid Kumar on keys, Matt is diving into the indie music scene. His songs draw influence from classic rock, multi-layered acoustic soundscapes, and unfold stories about his experiences in Chennai.

Born from a culmination of jammers and feel good musicians getting together, BTW began exactly the way it sounds. Four musicians, all from different spaces, each bringing something unique to the table.

Sid hande is a singer/songwriter based in Chennai. Past exploits include front-man duties for Skrat and Downhill Automatic.

He maybe better known for sport, but Somdev Devvarman is a Singer / songwriter at heart. Apart from performing in college gigs while at UVa, Charlottesville, Som has written several songs post his retirement from Professional tennis and is currently working on making his debut album.

An accomplished pianist, keyboard player, singer, music arranger/composer, and also a teacher in music theory, Siddharth Kumar has had extensive formal training in classical piano via The Royal Schools of Music (London). He has also been a professional musician for the past decade with ensembles based in and around Chennai.

Arjun Amirapu is a guitarist, music producer and DJ who has played with the jazz rock band Touchwood, electronic music producers Vinayak^a, NoLatency & Prematron and has a solo ambient downtempo project called Radiance.

Duality

A Chennai-based acoustic rock duo comprising of Manoj Sreekumar and Mihir Ranganathan, Duality presents its music in an acoustic setting through guitars and vocals. ‘Live’ shows consist of a mix of originals as well as covers done Duality-style.

Formed in Feb 2011, Duality has already performed more than 80 gigs across several prestigious venues & events in Mumbai, Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry, Hyderabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kumarakom and Bangalore.

Satchit

Satchit is a up and coming singer/songwriter/producer from London in the UK. Following years of musical training in various instruments and singing styles, including Carnatic and Western classical, he turned his interests to more contemporary and alternative styles. His music serves to create a soundscape using interesting vocal melody mixed with ambient synths and pulsing beats. Using alternative R&B mixed with some Indian musical elements, he has moved his music through different sub-genres. After releasing his first EP, ‘glass’ last year along with a music video, Satchit is working towards another big release for the end of Summer.
